A Partnership to Drive Transportation Change
The Transportation Energy Partnership (TEP) is a nationwide effort of Clean Cities coalitions and their partners to:
- diversify away from petroleum alone in the transportation sector,
- put advanced vehicle technologies to work to improve fuel economy and reduce unnecessary oil consumption,
- create green economy jobs in the U.S., and
- improve local air quality and health and curb global climate change.
America needs solutions to energy dependence today. Local and statewide Clean Cities coalitions are effective champions of energy independence with proven track records of developing projects to deploy alternative fuels and energy-saving vehicles and transportation technologies and conducting educational activities at the local level. Through our collective expertise and cohesive networks we can leverage real-world solutions now, provided we have the resources to get the job done.

Energy Independence Days
"Energy Independence Days" (EID) is a partnership between coalitions and industry supporters of the 80+ Clean Cities coalitions that exist all over the United States. Sponsor funds from industry make it possible for dozens of Clean Cities coordinators to travel to Washington, DC to receive briefings, exchange ideas, and meet with congressional members and staff.
Thanks to all who participated in 2008. Please join us this year in DC to learn about important national issues that affect the work we all do as Clean Cities coalitions and to spread the word about your successes.
In 2007, Energy Independence Days (EID) conference was a huge success with 35 coalitions participating making 123 Congressional office visits. In 2008, we expanded even further with 41 coordinators participating from 23 different states!
